Tofu tastes pretty bland, so pretty much every person that tasted tofu in my house asks me the same question: ” How do you cook it?” My tofu tastes great and takes ten minutes to make. I make it in the frying pan. To make yours healthier, you need to bake it, which takes a bit longer.

Two simple ways to cook tofu:

1. My favorite way to cook tofu: Cube or slice extra firm tofu, sprinkle with Bragg’s Amino Acids or with soy sauce, add two tbsp of coconut oil per block of tofu and fry on high flame, until crisp. Mix sporadically. You can also use extra virgin olive oil, but coconut oil is better for heath reasons and for the taste, as it tastes similar to butter.

2. Longer, but healthier  way: Heat the oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit. Slice tofu 1/4 inch thick.  Sprinkle with Bragg’s or soy sauce and bake for 30 minutes, stirring once, halfway through. I also like to  sprinkle olive oil on the tofu.

You can make your cooked tofu taste different every time, by adding and experimenting with spices, such as paprika, garlic and curry. A bit of balsamic vinegar can go a long way, especially if used in a marinade. White wine works well, too and so does lemon juice.
