What I love about baked apples is that you can eat them for a healthy desert that is low in calories, but tastes amazing. I also love the fact that you can scoop up the mushy part of the apples and give them to your baby instead of applesauce: cheap and holistic. My way of baking apples does not involve butter, cream or a lot of sugar: this way the whole family, even the youngest ones can enjoy them.

Ingredients:

6 sour green apples (sweet works, too, but sour tastes better)

6 tsp of brown sugar

1/2 cup water

Preheat the oven to 325 degrees Fahrenheit. Clean out  the apple by scooping out the cores. Put a tsp. of brown sugar in each apple. Arrange the apples on a baking tray and put the water on the bottom of the tray. Cover the tray with aluminium foil. Bake for 45 mins to an hour.
